An unfamiliar warmth came over my entire body for just a moment as my hand brushed his. I buried my face in the scalding hot liquid so he wouldn’t see the flush that came over me. Of course, I burned my tongue on the soup, but I didn’t dare look up or stop sipping. He indubitably noticed but was polite enough to pretend he didn’t. A gentleman to boot.
